Launching new areas for 2021

While 2020 was a challenging year for us all, we have remained busy selling 39 new HMO projects and renovation 25 houses creating over 104 luxury rooms to rent in Burnley, Preston and Lancaster. Off the back on this success, we are looking to replicate our business model in 3 brand new areas for 2021.

Huddersfield

Brimming with students Huddersfield is busy Yorkshire town filled with potential tenants looking for high spec HMO accommodation. Close to the Pennies, it sits 30 minutes from Leeds and 50 minutes from Manchester. It is a district that has constantly evolved with business, entrepreneurship and innovation at its core. World renowned for its strengths in advanced manufacturing, textiles and precision engineering, the district is now also emerging as a location for pharmaceuticals, medical technologies, and creative and digital industries. Packed with award winning architecture, stunning countryside just a stone’s throw from the centre and a thriving market town, this town has become a hotbed for food, festivals and entertainment drawing in students and young people looking to live in the town centre.

The University is second in the UK for best student experience, as voted for by international students in the International Student Barometer in 2018. Unlike some larger cities, Huddersfield offers a relatively low cost of living, giving you more for your money. Yorkshire’s combination of low property prices and strong rents offers property investors big yields.

Bradford

The University of Bradford opened in 1966 and has nearly 10,000 students, this well-established University gives great potential for student tenants. Bradford boasts a wide collection of galleries and theatres, an array of museums and an award-winning park. Bradford has been proud winners of the Curry Capital of Britain award for four years in a row, nothing beats a Bradford curry!

In addition to student rentals, several major companies have their headquarters in the district including Morrisons, Provident Financial, Yorkshire Building Society and Hallmark Cards. This includes two FTSE 100 companies, more than any other city in the North, giving huge potential for professional tenants. Bradford aims to be the UK’s fastest growing economy over the coming decade, increasing the value of it’s economy by £4 billion, getting 20,000 more people into work and improving the skills of 48,000 residents. 

Stoke-on-Trent

Stoke-on-Trent is the home of the pottery industry in England and is commonly known as the Potteries. In the heart of Stoke-on-Trent, Staffordshire University has been open since 1914 with nearly 20,000 students. This well-established University gives great potential for student tenants all requiring private accommodation after their first year in halls of residence. Keele University is also only a 10 minute drive from Stoke-on-Trent with the Keele University School of Medicine (UHNM Hospital Campus) being based in the heart Stoke-on-Trent with an additional 10,000 students attending.

University Hospitals of North Midlands NHS Trust is one of the largest and most modern in the country. Highly regarded for their facilities, teaching and research across two sites in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. The 11,000 strong workforce provide medical care from Royal Stoke University Hospital and County Hospital in Staffordshire.

The city is now planning the next stage of major redevelopment in the heart of the city centre.  As part of the plan there is a 3,500 seater arena for concerts exhibitions, conferences and banquets, a 200 bedroom 4 star hotel, a range of food and beverage outlets, leisure facilities including a multi-use sports venue and multi-storey car parking. 

The Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire economy has seen a number of positive announcements regarding new investment plans and job creation. Some of the world’s biggest companies like JCB, Jaguar Land Rover and Amazon are investing millions locally. The Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire Enterprise Partnership has a bold and ambitious vision to transform the local economy which it calls “50:50:10″ which is the stated aim to grow the economy by 50% and generate 50,000 new jobs in the next 10 years.
